Quick Bytes

Appleby's
Yes. Pricey and crowded, but satisfying. Did good at special requests.

A&W
Yes. Friendly service, great burgers and shakes.

Big Ed's (Oak Ridge)
Yes. Legendary pizza joint. I was able to get a hamburger pizza with no sauce and no cheese -- delicious!

Black Horse Pub
Yes. Pizza on a pedastal and beer samplers. Good burger.

Captain D's (Chapman Hwy)
Yes. Best corn on the cob. Total change of staff appears to have fixed the previous problems.

Chili's
Yes. Great diet choices and excellent service. No seafood on the menu. So if you're allergic, Clara says you can safely eat fried food here.

Great American
Maybe. BIG buffet and carving bar. A bit crowded and noisy, but good variety. Gameboy loves it. Andre hates it because he gets too full.

Friends (Seymour)
Maybe. Lovely, airy setting. Buffet is small compared to ones in Knoxville, but does have more unusual items (like chinese dishes). Friendly service.

King Tut's Grill
Yes! Try calimari rings and basbousa while you drink tea from a vase. Unusual and entertaining!

Luby's (Oak Ridge)
Yes. Outstanding vegetable plate. Good service.

Ruby Tuesdays (Chapman Hwy)
Maybe. Pricey, slow service, order mistakes, weak tea.

Sagebrush
No. Overpriced entrees, weak tea, old peanuts. Tasteless catfish.

Sam & Andy's (at UT)
Yes. Steamy atmosphere, great custom sandwiches, extensive beverage selection.

Shoney's
Maybe. Limited in number of entrees. Sometimes has that preservative on their salads but good variety. Good corn muffins. Also has great breakfast buffet.

Sonic
Yes. Home of limeade and tater tots. Warning: lettuce, tomato, and mayo in their grilled cheese!

Southern Vittles
Yes. Nostalgic for grandma's cooking? Fried Green Tomatoes?

Steak and Shake
Maybe. Satisfy that cholesterol craving.

Taco Bell
Yes. Surprise! Did great at special orders--taco with no lettuce, pizza with no sauce, tomatos or onions.

Uncle Bud's (Maryville)
Yes. White beans and onions. Chef swears they keep shrimp oil separate from other oil.
